March 28 - Retreat with Net Ministries!!

Lent is a Time of Encounter.  Lenten Reflection from Catholic Relief Services.

  • Through prayer, we encounter Christ, present in the faces of every member of our human family so often still walking that long road to Calvary.
  • Through fasting, we encounter our own obstacles, those things about ourselves that present us from loving God and neighbor.
  • Through almsgiving, we encounter our brothers and sisters around the world, asking what we can give up so that others might have life to the fullest.

New opportunity:  An Abide conference June 13 - Jun 18, 2018.

What is Abide?  THROUGH PERSONAL ACCOMPANIMENT, ABIDE FORMS AND COMMISSIONS HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH TO ROOT THEIR LIVES IN CHRIST THROUGH HIS CHURCH, AND TO SHARE THIS CHRISTIAN JOY WITH OTHERS AS MISSIONARY DISCIPLES.

Who is Abide for?    Abide is designed as a missionary discipleship conference - a ‘going deeper’ or ‘next step conference’ for teens who have encountered Christ and are beginning on the Way as a disciple. Ideally, teens who attend have some prior youth ministry and retreat experience, and who are looking to grow in the spiritual life and in knowledge of how to share the Gospel with their families, friends, etc.

The fall is upon us and the winter weather is not too far away.   It is time to clarify our protocol and procedures for weather cancellations.

Saint Mary’s Parish School of Religion, first through twelfth grades, follows Greenville City Schools lead on weather cancellations.  If they are closed for the day due to weather, then our Parish School of Religion is cancelled.  If Greenville City Schools released early, then our Parish School of Religion is closed.

If weather is late in developing, always use your best judgment and only drive if it is safe.  If a Wednesday evening session is cancelled due to late developing weather, there are several ways you can be notified.

When we close due to weather, notifications about closures will be found:

  • on the parish website under the Parish School of Religion tab;

  • on Channel 7, WHIO;

  • on your phone in the form of text or push notification from our Remind“Weather Cancellations” group.

  • on the Facebook page
