• Since we have missed three days due to weather we will use our make-up day, May 19 to celebrate Pentecost, Pizza and PSR.
• First Communion Banners are due to the school or parish office by Friday, March 5.

In the event that religion classes need to be cancelled due to hazardous weather, the cancellation announcement will be aired during the day on WHIO-TV or radio as well as other major stations. When in doubt, please use your discretion in favor of safety. If Greenville City Schools have been cancelled for the day due to hazardous weather (not fog days), evening PSR is also cancelled for that day. Be mindful that class will be held on days which were cancelled due to fog, presuming the fog has cleared and is not returning by evening.

St. Marys School of Religion endeavors to assist parents in the religious education of their children. The parents are the childs first teachers, having educated them in their formative years. Our PSR staff hopes to continue to support that Catholic Christian formation with parents as primary witnesses and sharers of our Catholic heritage. This recognizes each persons own need to take time to pray and support their own faith life.

Realizing that religious education and faith development are a life-long process, our program represents the Gospel message at each level in an age-appropriate manner. Each year, our program builds upon the previous year.

 Pre-school — ages 3 through Kindergarten

This series opens the little children to the discovery of Jesus — the persons, events, and teachings during His life. It lays a foundation for our children to understand and appreciate Jesus love for them, which they show in their daily lives. Class is held during the 10:30 AM Mass during the school year. All children must be registered to attend. The fee is $50 per child per year (special arrangements can be made for payment).

Childrens Liturgy of the Word — Grades K-3

St. Marys is proud to offer Childrens Liturgy of the Word for children during the 10:30 AM Mass. Children attend Mass with their parents and are called to attend Childrens Liturgy of the Word after the Gloria. Readings are shared with the children from the Childrens Lectionary. They pray the Creed together, then return to Mass during the Offertory to continue in prayer through the conclusion of Mass. There is no charge for this opportunity. Parents who prefer the Pre-school class are invited to enroll their children as above.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a week-long session for children age 4 through 4th grade to sing, play, and learn about Jesus love for them.

GLORY (God Loves Our Radical Youth)

The philosophy behind GLORY is that our youth learn through sharing and experiencing God with discussions on faith and participation in religious activities. The goal of GLORY is to inspire youth that God is present in everything they do. It does not take place in a classroom setting. Activities include regular youth meetings, religious adventures, service projects, St. Marys Parish functions, socials, fund raisers, retreats, Bible classes, religious training sessions, and leadership training camps, workshops and overnights.
