St. Mary's Catholic School
Christ is the reason for this school. He is the unseen but ever present teacher in all of our classrooms. He is the model of its faculty and the inspiration of its students.
Saint Mary's School began educating children in the Greenville area in 1888. A school building was erected and in September of 1888 the Sisters of Charity took charge of the school and used the old rectory as living quarters. The school grew rapidly and more space was required, so a house was purchased for the sisters and their living quarters were converted into a school for the first and second grades.
The present school building was built in 1957 and continues to serve as the education center for the parish.
The school provides an education for children in grades Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Saint Mary's School also provides two Preschool programs for children age three to five.
We are the only Catholic School in Darke County and have students attending not only from Greenville, but also from Arcanum, Ansonia, Pitsburg, Union City and Bradford.
