Meet The Staff

Fr. Ned Brown, Pastor Northwest 5 Family of Parishes

It is with great joy that I will be able to serve our entire family as I continue to live at St. Mary’s in Greenville. I have enjoyed getting to know some parishioners in our different parishes over the last year at various gatherings around Greenville and Darke County and I hope I can meet many more of you very soon. I would love to schedule a time to meet a big group of parishioners to have a meal or a bourbon. If you see me out and about at Sure Shot or at a restaurant don’t hesitate to say hello and chat.

A little background about me. I grew up in the southern part of our Archdiocese, on the eastside of Cincinnati – Eastgate.  My family still lives in that area: my parents Steve and Debbie, my 2 sisters and my brother.  I graduated in 2000 from Glen Este High School.  Then I graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville and majored in computer information science.  I worked in youth ministry for a couple of years before entering seminary and was ordained for the Archdiocese in May 2016.  I have had various assignments with the Archdiocese in Coldwater, Fort Recovery, and Cincinnati.  Some hobbies I enjoy are watching sports (especially the Cincinnati Reds), I plan to visit every MLB stadium, playing trivia, and I am a member of the Gem City Bourbon Society.

Please know of my prayers for you and please pray for Fr. Brown and the other priests as we help you through this time of transition.

I have felt called to work with God’s people since I was in college. Born (in Connecticut) and raised (in California) a Catholic, I moved to the Midwest for graduate school where I fell in love with the weather and my husband.

My educational background is in theology (University of Notre Dame, MA), philosophy and mathematics (University of California, Berkeley, BA) with additional graduate coursework in the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the liturgy.

I have been a parish member since the early 2000s and have worked with PSR almost since the beginning. I am so blessed to work with Father White and our parish team at Saint Mary’s Parish. As the Director of Religious Education, contact me with questions about faith formation for your children.

I've been attending St. Mary's off and on since I was in high school.  I got married in this church to my husband Jeff in 1984.  I finally converted and became Catholic in 1997 with the help of Father Kist and Father Trick. I have volunteered with PSR, Vacation Bible School, Rosary Altar Society and more.  I have three grown children, and 5 grandbabies. I joined the staff as secretary in 2012 after working as a youth program director at the YMCA.  Every day I wear a lot of hats and this job can be a challenge to keep it all flowing, but I really love it and am happy to serve the parish in any way I can.

I joined St. Mary's church in 1992 when Steve and I were married (Fr. Kist performed the ceremony). I have three adult children who all attended St. Mary's school from k-8th grade. I have volunteered with Glory for 8 years and in the Youth Minister position for 1. I have worked for Darke Co. Board of Developmental Disabilities for 12 years. Before that was home with the kids. I love to read. Mexican food is my favorite and if I could do whatever I wanted I would travel and see new places, meet new people and see how others live. It seems I have immersed myself in this age group all the way around as my caseload is supporting children ages 14 to HS graduation and their families. :) I enjoy this age group very much.
