Welcome to Saint Mary’s Parish Religious Education for 2022 - 2023
Blessings on your family in this new school year. May the Lord keep you safe and may His face shine upon you. Just a few housekeeping details. There is a meeting for families interested in Sunday Religious Education on Sunday, September 11 at 8:45 am while the students have class.
Please make sure that your family has turned in a Permission, Release and Authorization form for each child enrolled in Religious Education. You may use this form to update your contact information.
These forms are coming home tonight. The permission form is also now available on the Religious Education page of the parish website. Sorry, it is not interactive. I need a hard copy, so please print off the form. Let me know if you need another printed copy.
If you are new or have not already, sign up for the Remind notification so that we can communicate easily during business hours and, should the need arise, outside of office hours. I am usually available in the parish office from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Remind is where I post notifications about session cancellations due to weather.
The cost of religious education for a family is $100. For families with only one child in our programs, the cost is discounted to $50. Fees help offset the cost of materials provided to each child. If this fee is a hardship for your family, please let me know and arrangements can be made. If your children are enrolled at Saint Mary’s School, all religious education costs are covered. Religious education fees and the parish school tuition include all youth activities.
Pick up an orange Religious Education calendar. Dates are, of course, subject to change. Family members are invited to all sessions at the church or at the school. If you can only spare one hour a week, please bring your children to Mass on Sundays. We will understand. They will receive grace and goodness beyond words.
The primary responsibility for the religious education of your children is in the domestic church of your families and is supported by the pastor and the parish. I pray for all families of the parish each day and I want to support you in any way that I can.
Families may also choose to homeschool the formal religious education of their children. If your family would be interested in homeschool religious education, please notify me. Homeschool families have access to parish curriculum and resources.
Please contact me if you have any questions. In addition to our own programs, I can also connect you to resources, programs or people for your own on-going study of our faith and growth in your relationship with God. We support all Saint Mary’s parish families in raising their children up in the faith of the Church.
See the back for special grade specific announcements. Blessings,
